Introduction
The VA Palo Alto Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with the additional credential in Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery program accepts applications from graduates of all colleges of Podiatric Medicine. The program emphasizes reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and diabetic limb salvage. Surgery is performed under the direction of a highly experienced staff of board certified physicians. Surgical and clinical experiences occur at the VA Palo Alto Hospital and Clinics, Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center San Jose, SOAR Spine and Orthopedics, private office locations and multiple surgery centers. The DVAMC Palo Alto residency program provides an excellent educational experience in a diverse university environment in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.Residency Director

Clerkship Overview
Externs will participate in clinic, surgery, and inpatient rounding. The rotation will take place at VA Palo Alto Medical Center. Students will participate in weekly academics, journal club, monthly labs, and will provide an end of month presentation.
