Residency Overview

The VAPSHCS residency is a well-established and comprehensive program located at a major teaching hospital in Seattle, WA. The program has been granted full approval by CPME as a PMSR/RRA residency with 2 residents taken per year for the Seattle/Tacoma Track and 1 resident for the Seattle/Spokane track. Diverse experience in Federal and Private hospital systems through rotations at University of Washington, MultiCare and Madigan Army Medical Center. Our program provides robust and well-rounded experiences in wound care/limb salvage, trauma, surgery, sports medicine and research. Our residents have the unique opportunity of a prosthetics/rehab amputee rotation, complex pediatric patients at Madigan, as well as lecturing opportunities at state/regional conferences. Our residents surpass minimal surgical volume and diversity requirements and our weekly academic time well-prepares our residents to sit for ABFAS and ABPM board qualification exams.
