Introduction

The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program at Loma Linda University Medical Center–Murrieta is a comprehensive three-year training program (PMSR), approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME), with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (RRA). The program is fully integrated into a large suburban teaching hospital in Southern California. Our residents are involved in all aspects of medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle, from both inpatient and outpatient perspectives. They gain extensive experience with a broad range of elective and traumatic surgical cases. Additionally, residents rotate through an established multidisciplinary limb salvage program, which is a vital part of the institution and provides in-depth training in limb preservation and amputation prevention.
