Introduction
Our Foot & Ankle Clerkship is housed in a Level 2 Trauma Center, within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is intended to provide a professional clinical environment conducive to learning the basic and advanced podiatric patient management. Areas of emphasis will include the doctor-patient relationship and rapport, history and physical examination, the appropriate utilization of diagnostic tests, podiatric pathology, establishing appropriate treatment plans and protocols, and treating basic and advanced podiatric conditions. One month clerkship, ONE med student, with chief residents PGY3. (PGY-3 Scripps Mercy, DVA New Mexico, Chino Valley Programs) with primary scrubbing in cases for all aspects of foot/ankle, lower extremity trauma and recon, outpatient/inpatient care, medicine/surgery, ED/Trauma, and multi-disciplinary care. Weekly didactics, grand rounds, lectures, student presentation at the end of rotation.Residency Director
