Introduction
This program is a comprehensive PMSR-RRA residency with the goal to educate our residents in both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of the lower extremity. This is achieved through a variety of clinics, hospitals, and surgical locations with exposure to the widest variety of pathologies including reconstruction, trauma, wounds, and private practice. Our residents complete the program with an average of 3 times the minimum surgical numbers. We have vigorous academics 2x/week that revolves around our residents' experiences to supplement their daily work. Residents also learn practice management, including coding and billing and how to handle a busy private practice. They are universally well prepared to enter any type of practice on day one after graduation.Residency Director

Clerkship Overview
Chino Valley Medical Center (CVMC) offers a dynamic and immersive clerkship experience for fourth-year podiatric medical students. Our program emphasizes hands-on training, professional development, and a welcoming team culture designed to help students thrive both personally and professionally.
During your month with us, you’ll rotate through a variety of clinical and surgical settings, gaining exposure to high-volume, high-complexity cases. Clinical rotations include time at Garey Orthopedic Medical Group, Empire Foot & Ankle Center, and Western University’s Foot & Ankle Center. Surgically, externs participate in cases across several affiliated hospitals, including CVMC and Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. From minimally invasive procedures and forefoot reconstruction to trauma and wound care, you’ll work closely with residents and attendings in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Academically, externs are expected to attend and actively participate in weekly academic sessions, monthly case conferences, journal discussions, and radiology rounds. Each extern delivers a short presentation on a podiatric topic of their choice. While there’s no set daily schedule, externs are expected to show up early, stay engaged, and prepare thoroughly for clinical and academic responsibilities. On-call duties with residents take place for one to two weeks during the month, offering an invaluable glimpse into hospital-based care and consult management.
We hold our externs to high standards of professionalism. Punctuality, preparation, and respectful conduct are essential. While we work hard, we also support and mentor every student who rotates through our program. Our goal is not only to prepare you to match at CVMC but to help you succeed wherever your residency journey takes you.
We look forward to sharing our program with you and giving you an authentic, high-yield experience in podiatric medicine and surgery.

Residency Overview
This is a three year podiatric medical and surgical program based out of a successful community hospital in the Inland Empire outside of Los Angeles. This program aims to create podiatric physicians with the clinical and surgical skills to function as independent health care providers in all aspects of lower extremity care. Surgical numbers far exceed what is required in all categories with a wide variety of foot and ankle pathology, including diabetic limb salvage, elective reconstruction and trauma. The residents are fully integrated with allopathic and osteopathic residents. Our residents receive experience working with different attendings in private practice, academic, as well as county hospitals, and Kaiser in Northern California. This program aims to create podiatric physicians who can think rather than simply be technicians. This is accomplished through a competenc
