Residency Overview
Minnesota’s longest-running podiatric residency is based at HCMC, a Level I Trauma Center in downtown Minneapolis. This three-year PMSR/RRA program accepts two residents per year and is affiliated with major multi-specialty hospitals across the Twin Cities, serving a diverse patient population. The first year builds a foundation in general medicine, surgery, and podiatric care with emphasis on clinical skills and perioperative management. The second year features increased surgical volume and complexity. In the final year, residents serve in a chief role, oversee junior residents, and manage advanced rearfoot and ankle reconstruction cases. The program emphasizes progressive responsibility, surgical excellence, clinical leadership, and preparation for board certification and independent practice. Applications are accepted from all accredited podiatric medical schools.
