Residency Overview
Saint Joseph Health System offers two positions per year in its PMSR/RRA residency program. The program provides residents with exceptional hands-on surgical training in forefoot and rearfoot procedures, including both reconstructive and non-reconstructive surgery, limb salvage, and trauma management.
Residents benefit from strong interdisciplinary collaboration, with vascular, general, and orthopedic surgeons who are highly receptive to podiatry residents and actively involve them in surgical cases. Training spans across four area hospitals and three ambulatory surgery centers, with residents also responsible for the in-house care of patients at Saint Joseph Health System.
The educational curriculum includes Journal Club, weekly academic sessions, the ACFAS Surgical Skills Course, external fixation in-services, cadaver labs, and attendance at regional and national conferences.
