Introduction
The Ascension Wisconsin Podiatric Residency Program offers a comprehensive and rigorous training experience that emphasizes all facets of podiatric care—from diverse clinical exposure to advanced reconstructive surgical procedures. This PMSR program includes rearfoot/ankle certification and residents consistently exceed surgical case minimums across all categories, single-scrubbing cases with attending surgeons. The first year features extensive experience with on-call and inpatient management, off-service rotations, and dedicated podiatric on-service weeks. From the start, residents participate in a wide range of elective and trauma surgeries. Second and third year residents gain substantial hands-on experience in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction, with an emphasis on active surgical participation. Graduates routinely log over 1,000 cases and go on to successful careers in fellowships, hospital systems, private practice, and multi-speciality groups. We seek enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a strong desire to excel in the podiatric field. Residents train at over 10 facilities throughout the Milwaukee metro area and occasionally rotate with affiliated surgeons in Appleton, WI. Our main hospital is conveniently located just two blocks from Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee.Residency Director
