Located in rural northern Illinois, OSF Saint Katharine offers a rigorous and rewarding Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PM&S-36) designed to develop confident, competent, and compassionate foot and ankle surgeons prepared to lead in both their profession and their communities. We hold our residents to a high standard. This program is demanding, requiring hard work, focus, and resilience; but we believe that greatness is not achieved alone. Residents at OSF Saint Katharine are immersed in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery, from initial clinical evaluation to complex surgical reconstruction and post-operative care. You will gain hands-on experience in: Forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction and revision Pediatric foot and ankle pathology Internal and external fixation techniques Foot and ankle trauma management Total ankle joint replacement Peripheral Nerve Surgery The program integrates high surgical volume with robust clinical training and a strong didactic curriculum. Faculty provide daily teaching and real-time feedback, promoting academic advancement and clinical confidence. Participation in research is required, and scholarly inquiry is strongly encouraged. As a student on clerkship you are immersed in this environment and will function under the supervision of the attending surgeons and residents. This is an active rotation where you are expected to invest in the rotation and experience. Clerkships are month long interviews so bring your best!
