Introduction

VA Illiana Medical Center and OSF Peoria Affiliate offer a 3 year PMSR w/RRA residency program, fully approved by the Council of Podiatric Education. VA Illiana Medical Center offers a 3-year PMSR w/ RRA residency program, fully approved by the Council of Podiatric Education. Podiatric residency training occurs primarily at the Peoria Illinois location. Resident rotations provide a full scope of medical and surgical training in a team based interdisciplinary setting. Residents rotate between the Peoria VA outpatient clinic and at our Peoria OSF affiliate, clinic and hospital. Travel to Danville IL or other OSF locations outside of Peoria is required at times for rotations and OR cases. Overall standardized training encompasses all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. Surgical training to include forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot, forefoot & rearfoot reconstruction, Charcot reconstruction, foot & ankle trauma, limb salvage.

Clerkship Overview

Clerkship experiences encompass all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. Overall, rotations provide a robust exposure to medical and surgical experiences in a team based interdisciplinary setting. Surgical training includes forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot, forefoot & rearfoot reconstruction, Charcot reconstruction, foot & ankle trauma, limb salvage. Podiatric clerkship training occurs for two weeks at the Danville location and the remaining 2 weeks of a month rotation occurs at the Peoria Illinois location. While at the Peoria Location clerks experience patients at the Peoria VA outpatient clinic and at our Peoria OSF affiliate, clinic and hospital.

Residency Overview

VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois offers a 3 year PMSR w/RRA residency program, approved by the Council of Podiatric Education. Resident rotations provide a full scope of medical training in team based interdisciplinary settings.� Podiatric surgical training may be provided at Carle Hospital, Christie Clinic,� Foot and Ankle Specialists and� OSF Hospital System Illinois. All aspects of podiatric surgery including forefoot, midfoot, & rearfoot reconstruction, Charcot reconstruction, foot & ankle trauma, limb salvage and arthroscopy are offered. Competencies are met through training in these diverse facilities. Present courseware and board review courses are also available.
