Advocate Christ Medical Center

Advocate Christ Medical Center is a registered PMSR-RRA with exceptionally large diversity of surgical exposure at a very large level one Trauma medical center and large children's hospital. Residents cover in-house management at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Advocate Children's Hospital. There are also an additional 9 locations for case coverage in the surrounding areas for residents. Residents are expected to perform a large volume of surgical procedures, far exceeding CPME residency requirements, under numerous podiatric and orthopedic attendings on a daily basis. Students are given exposure to large volume of inpatient and outpatient surgeries at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, and Tinley Woods Surgery Center. Students are required to actively participate in didactics sessions.

Our program stresses a holistic approach to patient care, and places a special emphasis on surgery, scholarly activity and research. Our teaching faculty are nationally recognized and receive private and federal research grant support. Residents train in a multitude of settings, including the nation’s third largest nonprofit integrated health system (Advocate Health), Chicago’s iconic public hospital (Stroger), and at a large urban-based university-affiliated teaching hospital (UIC). Trainees also gain invaluable private practice experience in one of the nation’s largest and most successful podiatry supergroups (Weil Foot & Ankle/Balance Health). Residents gain extensive training in ankle & foot surgery, reconstructive surgery & deformity correction, trauma, arthroscopy & sports medicine, and provide on call services at four level 1 trauma centers in Chicago.
