Residency Overview
McLaren Macomb's podiatric surgery residency is the evolution of Civic Hospital/Kern, and is the oldest continually operating training program in the U.S. for podiatric surgery. Our graduates will enter practice well-prepared, with notable alumni that have gone on to serve as residency program directors, Deans of Podiatric Medical Schools, and leaders in research. Our program has a heavy emphasis on academics with weekly lectures, conferences, McGlamry reviews and interdisciplinary lectures with other departments at McLaren Macomb. We also host monthly Journal Clubs and Journal Reviews where we critically review a high volume of current literature. Our residents will exceed volume and diversity requirements with a wide variety of pathology. We have a busy ER that treats more than 64,000 patients annually.
