Introduction

Our podiatric clerkship program, based in Dearborn, Michigan, offers an immersive experience in the realities of private practice, blending clinical training with exposure to practice management. Students will work closely with the physician in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. This program emphasizes both the art and science of podiatry — from diagnosing and treating diverse pathologies to understanding the operational and business aspects of running a successful practice. With a focus on real-world skills, patient interaction, and professional growth, this clerkship is designed to prepare future podiatrists for success in any practice setting.

Clerkship Overview

Join us for a hands-on, real-world podiatry clerkship in a busy private practice setting! You’ll gain direct patient care experience, from exams and procedures to biomechanical evaluations and diabetic foot care, while working with a diverse patient population and a wide range of pathologies. This rotation goes beyond textbook learning — you’ll see how a practice runs day-to-day, including scheduling, billing, documentation, and patient communication. Expect plenty of opportunities to get involved, ask questions, and sharpen your skills. By the end, you’ll not only feel more confident clinically, but you’ll also have valuable insight into the business and management side of podiatry.

Residency Overview

A vibrant, hands-on, private practice with focus on clinical experience and practice management. Clerks will be able to strengthen their clinical skills in a nonstress environment by working directly with our providers and gain experience in a wide variety of treatments. Join us for a "mini-mentorship" month at a diverse location with a rich history (and exceptional food scene).
