Introduction

HCA Florida JFK Hospital's Podiatric Surgical Residency Program is a comprehensive three-year program with additional RRA Certification. Our residents experience an intensive, well-rounded education in a fully integrated teaching hospital setting. The program incorporates a wide range of medical and surgical sub-specialty rotations that provide real-world clinical experience. The program creates an individualized experience with easy access to our experienced academic faculty. Didactic learning is emphasized, including a weekly lecture series, journal club, cadaver lab, grand rounds and research. In addition, we strive to create excellent learning opportunities through clinical training with a wide-ranging surgical caseload, office rotations, medicine and surgery rotations, as well as interaction with other residents

Clerkship Overview

The JFK Podiatric Surgery clerkship is a month long rotation at JFK Hospital and affiliated institutions. The program exposes the student to all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. This experience is exceptionally valuable in the education process. The students will actively assist and participate in the intra-operative case load in the operating rooms, as well as assisting with in-house hospital rounds. The extern is asked to give a short presentation at the end of their rotation.

Residency Overview

HCA Florida JFK Hospital Podiatric Residency Program is a PMSR/RRA approved program by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. There are two entry-level positions available with a three-year commitment. This program offers a significant volume of reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery. JFK Medical Center is conveniently located in the heart of Palm Beach County in close proximity to colleges/universities, desirable residential communities, beautiful beaches, excellent schools, Palm Beach International Airport, and train & bus transportation. The program offers a unique, multi-disciplinary approach to resident education. There are a large number of Allopathic rotations which are extremely unique.
