DVA - Bay Pines VA Healthcare System

We like to provide an all-encompassing rotation with exposure to podiatry clinic, wound clinic, and surgery. The more interest, motivation, and preparation shown as a student, the more training and hands-on practice you will experience during your month here.

This is a PMSR/RRA program that encompasses all aspects of Podiatry including forefoot/rearfoot/ankle surgery, general podiatric medicine, and wound clinic (in conjunction with the plastic surgery department). 1 resident per year allows for individualized training and maximum exposure. Call is equally shared, with no holiday call for PGY3. The Podiatry staff as well as Hospital Administration and all other rotation faculty are highly motivated in the training and education of all residents and medical students at the facility. Scheduled outside rotations (2 months out of each year) with a local private practice will afford each resident practice management skills, pediatric experience, and other private practice pearls. 10 months of each year will be spent at the VA facility, which is located on an impressive 337 acres on the Gulf of Mexico with beach access just over 1 mile away!
