Introduction

MCR Health, in partnership with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Podiatric Medicine (LECOM SPM), offers a new Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency program in Bradenton, Florida. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), MCR Health offers residents a diverse clinical experience serving a broad patient population in both community and hospital settings. This three-year residency provides comprehensive training in forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery, diabetic limb preservation, and interdisciplinary care. Through hands-on mentorship, innovative education, and a strong commitment to community health, the program prepares residents to become skilled, compassionate, and service-driven podiatric physicians.

Residency Overview

The MCR Health/LECOM School of Podiatric Medicine Residency is a 36-month program offering extensive training in elective forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery. Residents gain high-volume experience in foot trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and reconstructive procedures utilizing both internal and external fixation techniques. The curriculum includes additional medical and surgical rotations in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Anesthesiology, Radiology, and Pathology. Residents receive comprehensive clinical training in hospital patient management and outpatient care, preparing them for excellence in all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery.
