Residency Overview
The Roger Williams Medical Center PMSR/RRA Residency Program is a three-year surgical residency that provides comprehensive training in foot and ankle medicine and surgery through a combination of clinical, academic, and operative experiences. In recent years, the program has transitioned to a smaller resident complement, creating an educational environment with increased individualized mentorship, greater operative participation, and expanded opportunities for resident leadership. Residents gain extensive experience in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, wound care, and complex foot and ankle pathology while working closely with a diverse faculty across multiple practice settings. The program's emphasis on progressive autonomy, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based patient care prepares graduates for successful careers in private practice, hospital-based medicine, or fellowship training.
