MedStar Health Georgetown University
Introduction
The MedStar Health – Georgetown University Podiatric Surgery Residency Program is a well-established, three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR) with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery (RRA). Based at MedStar Washington Hospital Center—the largest academic medical center in Washington, D.C.—the program is fully approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) and provides a comprehensive and high-volume surgical training experience. This residency offers a unique combination of academic excellence through its partnership with Georgetown University and extensive clinical exposure across the MedStar Health system. Residents are immersed in a wide range of surgical cases including trauma, limb salvage, and complex rearfoot and ankle reconstruction, while rotating through various multidisciplinary services that foster collaboration and advanced clinical decision-making. A rigorous didactic curriculum, robust research opportunities, and dedicated faculty mentorship round out the program’s strengths, making it an ideal environment to develop both the surgical skill and the professional judgment necessary to become a well-rounded foot and ankle surgeon.Clerkship Program Contact
