Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center

Introduction

Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center sponsors a three-year comprehensive Podiatric Surgery Residency Program, approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. The program currently accepts three residents and is open to all students. Completion of the Medical Center's Podiatric externship is not mandatory for consideration. We highly encourage all interested students to visit and tour the Medical Center prior to application.

Residency Overview

The program has been fully accredited by CPME as a PMSR/RRA. There are rotations at Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Rahway Hospital and multiple surgical centers. The resident will gain a broad experience in lower extremity trauma, wound care, inpatient management, and forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Our residents work closely with the orthopedic surgeons in the hospital.
