Clerkship Overview
Welcome to our clerkship program. During your time with us, you will be given a tour of our facilities and then be paired with your respective resident(s). We are part of the Main Line Health System where you will get the opportunity to rotate at our 3 main sites: Bryn Mawr (our home base), Lankenau, and Paoli. You will typically be stationed at one hospital site per week. Please plan on covering one weekend of "call", which will include both Saturday and Sunday (this will be determined within your first week of externship and you can discuss with your co-externs on which weekend you prefer to cover). You will cover the floors with your respective resident and scrub in on cases in our OR. We are part of a very busy healthcare system which will provide you with an abundance of educational opportunities and surgical experience!
You will be responsible for one 5-7 minute PowerPoint presentation related to the topic of the month. This will be determined within the first week of your clerkship and be presented during the Journal Club dinner at the end of your externship.
