Residency Overview
LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion is a distinguished teaching hospital affiliated with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, offering four PMSR/RRA positions annually. Our residency program offers a comprehensive and immersive training experience for residents. Our dynamic program integrates high-volume clinical practice with advanced surgical training, emphasizing forefoot and rearfoot correction through a diverse array of minimally invasive techniques. Residents gain extensive exposure to infection control, limb salvage, and trauma management during hospital rounds and on-call responsibilities. This rigorous environment equips trainees with the skills to diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of podiatric pathologies, ensuring well-rounded, hands-on expertise in both conservative and surgical interventions.
Education is a cornerstone of our program, featuring weekly didactic meetings, monthly journal clubs, and fast-paced clinics—all designed to cultivate strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. Additionally, residents are required to produce one research project annually suitable for publication, reinforcing scholarly development and academic contribution.
With a structured curriculum, collaborative learning environment, and exposure to diverse pathologies, our residency equips future podiatric physicians with the skills and confidence needed to excel in this evolving field.
