Externships are a learning experience for you, it is not a month-long interview. Your time with us will go by quickly and we would advise you to take advantage of all the opportunities given. You will have opportunities to work hard, be a team player, make mistakes and learn from them; but above all else, enjoy your externship. We realize that you are an aspiring doctor, and with that title comes responsibility. We will not force you to accept any of the offered opportunities, and we will not provide consequences if you pass up on the opportunities, however if you choose to pass on the offered opportunities know that this may negatively impact your education and experience. We are looking forward to working with you. We are confident that by the end of this month you are going to excel as an extern and develop your skills as a clinician and student surgeon.

Phoenixville Hospital, which is affiliated with Tower Health, is located in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania and within a 20-mile radius of all our PA Ortho Center office locations and other affiliated hospitals. A very well-balanced program with exposure to orthopedic offices, total ankle replacements, and research opportunities readily available. We have a strong focus on surgical training, especially rear foot reconstruction. Core attending faculty takes pride in teaching and friendly staff at the affiliated hospitals. We have a great relationship with orthopedics and there are no ortho residents, therefore podiatry residents benefit from all foot and ankle related cases. Academics are held weekly.
