Introduction
Montefiore Mt Vernon is a community-based teaching hospital that functions as a family and values interdisciplinary teamwork. A large portion of our training is performed at Montefiore New Rochelle Hosp and two offsite surgical centers with focus on high volume minimally invasive surgeries. Our PMSR/RRA program offers a comprehensive, well-rounded surgical and clinical education through an academic and positive learning environment. Our residents have outstanding opportunity to train with Wound Care Fellowship trained Doctors and Hyperbaric Certified Doctors, who utilize evidence-based therapies at our dedicated wound care center. Our program exposes residents to a high volume of outpatients and the pre & post-op challenges of podiatric surgery. Training concentrates on conservative & surgical management of foot & ankle disorders. Emphasis on Wound Care at our Hyperbaric Wound Center. Podiatry clinic training in evaluations of surgical and nonsurgical patients & coding and billing.
