Mohawk Valley Health System
Introduction
The Mohawk Valley Health System Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program (PMSR/RRA) is designed for the mature, self-motivated, self-disciplined podiatric medical school graduate. Your training here will include exposure to and participation in treating and caring for patients in the hospital, outpatient and multidisciplinary setting. Our three-year program has received continuing accreditation status with the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME). Our office, surgical, medical, wound care, and biomechanical patient encounters exceed the Minimum Activity Volume (MAV) for each category as established by the CPME. Our podiatric medical students and residents are the sole trainees participating in all podiatric surgical cases at MVHS, providing our learner with an unopposed experience. Additionally, our residents and students are provided with weekly protective time for academics, which includes Journal Clubs, Faculty Lectures, Radiology Rounds, Self-Study Time, and Cadaver labs.Residency Director

Residency Overview
Our PMSR/RRA program is a dynamic, growing residency, offering comprehensive training in podiatric medicine and surgery. The curriculum provides a balanced experience with intensive podiatric clinic and surgical rotations, complemented by off-service medical and surgical training to support well-rounded clinical development.
Residents manage their own clinic patients under the direct supervision of attending faculty, fostering progressive autonomy and strong clinical decision-making skills. Additional surgical exposure is available through affiliated sites, along with dedicated training in limb preservation and wound care at the Advanced Wound Care Center.
A structured didactic program—including lectures, case conferences, journal club, cadaver labs, and hands-on workshops—supports academic growth and technical skill development.
